ACCIDENTS AT FOOTBALL
SEVERAL PLAYERS INJURED. THAMES, Saturday. In a strenuous game of Rugby between College Old Boys and City seniors play was very rough at times and injuries were frequent. S. Dufty was taken to hospital with a fractured shoulder, W. Percy sustained concussion, while W. Brunton received two broken ribs. In the junior match between Thames and Waihi, S. Kelly, the Thames captain broke a finger. OPOTIKI, Sunday. A member of the junior City football team, M. Parkinson, fell heavily when playing against the junior Country team yesterday and broke his left wrist. AUCKLAND, Monday. Two footballers were admitted to the hospital on Saturday afternoon. Cyril Smith, aged 21, of Takapuna, was admitted with concussion, and Robert Hayes, aged 16, Kingsland, with injuries resulting from a kick in the stomach. *
