A DISAPPOINTMENT.
It may seem. unnatural in the chilly weather of March,, but the dress trade is now hard at work getting ready for the bathing season, and is producing new modles to attract beach dazzlers. A manufacturer told mp- of an amusing experience. His designers found a neyv material, which had not been used for bathing dresses before, and they made up a number of experi-mental-dresses to see how they looked. Everyone agreed they were a triumph, and plans were made for production on a large scale. Just before the material was ordered, someone wondered what effect water would have on these dresses. An experiment was carried out, and it was found that the material, when wet, was perfectly transparent.
