RUGBY TRIALS.

(To the Editor.) •Sir, —In support of “Old Timer’s” letter referring to the necessity of holding a trial match for the selection of the Waikato team to play Auckland on June 3, I would like to suggest that the Hamilton Rugby Union give selector McKenzie the option of playing such a trial on Saturday, May 31. It will not hinder t)he club competitions to any great extent, requiring only the postponement of. the second round for ono week. In my opinion the Union would get a record gate and the selector could have his team together i .for training on Monday, June 2, which would certainly be an advantage over previous years.—l am, eto., SUPPORTER.
