ADDINGTON MARKET. CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. The features of the weekly market at Addington were increases in values for fat lambs, fat sheep and store sheep. Fat cattle also sold well, but with little alteration in values. Store Sheep.—There was a very small entry and It met with a very free inquiry. Forward lambs advanced up to 35., a head on late rates. Medium sorts recorded a rise of 2s a head and cull lambs were better by Is a head. Adult sheep also sold at advanced rates, the rise in the case of the better class of. ewes being Is and up to 2s a bead on-last week’s rates. Forward wethers sold better- than last week by 2s a head.. Values were: Medium ewe lambs lis to 13s Sd, culls to 7s 6d, extra good wether lambs 13s to 15s ,2d, ordinary 8s 6'd lo 11s, cull to ss, good' 4, 6 and 8-tooth -f-bred. ewes 16s lo 19s, ordinary 8-tooth halfbred ewes 12s 4d to 13s 9d, ordinary 2-tooth 13s 2d to 17s 9d, failing mouth 3s 9d to 10s, good 4 and 6-tooth halfbred wet'hers 16s to 18s, medium 4 and 6-tooth 12s to 15s.

Fat Lambs. —There was an entry of 2509 head. The sale was a very good one and values recorded an increase of Is and up to 2s a head on last week’s rates. Values were: Extra prime lambs to 27s 7d, prime 23s to 25s 6d, medium 19s 6d to 22s 6d, light 16s to 19s. Fat Sheep.—-The fat sheep penned totalled about 4500 head ancl their sale was a ready one throughout. Values were a shade better than at last week’s market, ewes advancing Is a head. Values were: Extra prime wethers to 30s 4d, prime 26s to 28s 6d, medium 23s to 25s 6d, light 17s to 22s 6d, extra prime ewes to 25s Id, prime 19s to 22s 6d, medium 15s 6d to 18s 6d, light and aged 10s to 14s 6d. Fat Cattle.—An entry of 365 head was just sufficient to meet the requirements of butchers. The sale was a'freer one than that of last week, hut ■ there was little quotable change in values. Best medium-weight beef made from 35s to 38s 6d per 1001 b and in some cases a little above that figure; medium quality, from 28s to 31s, heavy steer from 31s 6d to 34s 6d,' good cow; 'from' 25s to 27s Gd; secondary 22s to 245, rough down to 20s. Values were: Show steer £22 7s 6d, extra prime heavy steers to £2O, prime £l4 10s lo £l7, prime medium weight £ll to £l4 ss, ordinary quality £8 to £lO .10s, light £6 to £7 15s, extra prime heifers to £ls 7s 6d, prime £8 10s to £ll as, ordinary £0 10s to £B, light £5 to £G ss, extra prime cows lo £ls 12s Gd, prime £8 to £lO 10s, ordinary £6 to £7 10s, light and aged £4 5s to 5 10s.

Vealers. —A small entry. All good calves sold on a slightly higher basis, but poor sorts sold indifferently. The top price was £6 3s Od,

Store Cattle—There was a small entry, and the quality was generally poor. Last week’s rates were maintained, however, for the better sorts offering. Eighteen-months to twoyear steers made up to £5 8s 6d and cows sold up to £5 15s. Potting bulls sold at late rates, top price for them being £7 11s. Dairy Cattle.—There was an entry of 56 head of very mixed quality. Outstanding sorts attracted keen competition, but it was a dull sale for the remainder, Values were: Best second and third calvers to £l6 10s, good £l3 to £l4 10s, others £3 to £l2, good 'heifers £l2 to £l4, medium £9 10s to £ll, others £5 15s to £B. Fat Pigs.—There was a small entry of porkers, and heavy sorts sold at slightly advanced rates, with the remainder on a par with last week. Bacon values remained firm. Values were: Choppers £3 to £6 6s, light porkers £2 to £2 7s 6d, heavy £2 10s to £3 (average price per lb 7d to 7£d); light baconers £3 3s 6d to £3 15s, heavy £3 17s 6d to £4 10s 6d, extra heavy to £5 6s 6d (average price per lb 6d to 7d). CLEARING SALE AT EUREKA. -The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report having held a very successful clearing sale of Red Polled cattle on account of -Mr W. Leask, of Eureka. There was a fair attendance, buyers being present from Te Puke, Matamata, Tuakau, Clevedon, ancl Taranaki. Everything changed hands at satisfactory prices. Red Polled cows, well forward in calf, £9 10s to £l2; more backward sorts, £5 15s to £8 10s; Shorthorn and Reel Polled-cross cows, £7 10s to £9; Jersey and Red Polled-cross cows, £6 5s to £9 10s; Red Polled heifers, running with bull, £4- 10s to £7; Red Polled steer calves, £3 6s to £4 17s 6d; Red Polled heifer calves, £1 10s to £2 11s; pedigree Red Polled bull calves, Bgns to 18gns. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report having held their Te Awamutu stock sale yesterday, when a medium yarding of all classes of cattle and pigs came forward. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:—At our special heifer sale held at Rangiriri salcyards yesterday we penned 350 incalf heifers of all classes, when satisfactory prices were realised.
