REPARATIONS LOAN.
BRITAIN’S QUOTA. REDUCTION OF NATIONAL DEBT (Official Wireless.) (Received May 21, 11.45 a.m.) RUGBY, May 20. Asked in the House of Commons if, in view of the desirability of encouraging investments in British industries by British investors, he would reconsider the allocation of the Reparations loan under the Young plan, the Chancellor of the Exchequer (Right Hon. P. Snowden) said the amount of the Reparations loan to be issued in London would be limited to the British Empire's share of the gross proceeds of the loan. The receipts of this country would be used to reduce the national debt. In those circumstances no question arose of interference with investments in Industry.
