REVIVAL MEETINGS.
BLIND SOLDIER EVANGELIST. At the Baptist Church last night the missioner dealt with the subject of “What Hinders Revival?” taking as his text John xiv., 12, “Verily, verily I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also, and greater works than these shall he do, because I go unto my father.” The speaker said this text constituted a 1 challenge to the Christian Church. These • were the words spoken by our Lord before He left his disciples. Have they been fulfilled? Yes, they were fulfilled at Pentecost, at the time of the Reformation, the Wesley, Fletcher, Whitfield, and Welsh revivals. But what about to-day? Is it possible of fulfilment now? The man outside the Church says “No, the Church is a spent force.;” and many inside the Church question whether it is possible, but we believe the Word of God. Revival is possible, when God’s conditions are fulfilled.
