SUCCESSFUL TICKETS. FIRST PRIZE TO INVERCARGILL. A FRANKTO'N WINNER. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Sunday. The art union to raise funds for the Wellington and Wairarapa Aero Clubs was drawn yesterday in the Town Hall concert chamber, under police supervision. There was a large number of people present to witness the drawing. Auckland holders of tickets had little luck except as regards the smaller prizes. Following are the winners of the principal prizes:— D. Scandrett, Invercargill, £2OOO. Miss W. J. Braien, Southland, £SOO. R. V. Svenson, Timber Bay, Dannecirke, £250. The four prizes of £IOO each went to Alex Soott, care Railway Advertising Office, Wellington; Rogers, Nireaha, Eketahuna; Miss F. B. Ash, High Street, Dannevirke; and F. J. Richardson, Belmont Road, Lower Hutt. Four prizes of £SO each were won by Miss Dinnis Davy, St. Glair, Dunedin; J. Doody, Porangahau, Hawke’s Bay; A. Williams, Levin; and E. A. Collison, Napier. There were four prizes of £25 each, which were won by the following:—Master Alan Singer, Kilbirnie, Wellington; Miss D. Petherick, Newton, Wellington; James B. Carr, Waitara; and Mr Evan Baxter, Whakatane. Amongst the winners of £5 are C. May, Frankton Junction and H. S. Judd, .Cambridge. WINNER’S LUCKY INVESTMENT. PURCHASE ALMOST ACCIDENTAL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARCULL, Monday. The winner of the first prize in the Aviation Art Union is Mr Douglas Scandrett, a well-known land and commission agent who purchased two tickets. Mr Scandrett stated that the purchase was amost accidental. He had passed a ticket seller every day, and heard him shouting about his wares, but had no intention of buying one. One morning as he passed the seller on the street it occurred to him that he had two half-crowns in his pocket, and he invested them in two tickets.
