JINGOISTIC SPEECH.
MUSSOLINI ON FASCISM. BEAUTY OF BIG GUNS. NAVAL PROGRAMME ADHERED TO. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. copyright. ROME, May 17. The Prime Minister of Italy, Signor Mussolini, addressed a gathering of Fascists at Florence. He said:— “ Italy’s friendship is precious, hut her enmity is hard. There is great ignorance about us abroad. They think we are a .minor people, but we are a nation of 40,000,000. “ They think we are governed by tryanny, but it is the Italian people who govern the Italian people and are capable of great sacrifices. More important than my speech to-day are big guns and machine-guns. Italy’s new naval programme shall be carried out exactly as it was laid down. “ The Fascist will is a will of iron. There are people who think they can isolate Italy and who would not be averse to starting war against the Italian-people even through the territory of a third Power. We await them at the crossing.” (Wild cheers). “ Though words are beautiful things,” continued Signor Mussolini, “ rifles, machine-guns, ships and areoplanes are still more beautiful- Right is a vain word unless it be accompanied by might.”
