The best run.of the day was from a good hare that jumped up in front of hounds in Mr J. Ambury’s, and led the pack and field across .country to Ne.wcombe’s corner, Turning right handed, she ran in a circle to Hautapu School, where scent became very light,’ so the Master decided for homeHares were plentiful and strong, but lay very-close.- Scent was patchy, at times breast, high, when, hounds fairly flew, but it would suddenly be- 1 come faint, and almost: fail '.altogether. 11 was a-good day’s .sport, and although the . fences were fairly stiff, there were no falls-.of a serious nature, and-the country, rode well.
