MOTOR ACCIDENTS.

CAR OVER BANK. SIX PASSENGERS INJURES. TWO ADMITTED TO HOSPITAL. ACCIDENT AT CAMBRIDGE. ' (Special to Times.) > CAMBRIDGE, Monday. Severe injuries were sustained b f the six occupants of a seven-seater service car w'hen it crashed over a bank at Karapiro, Cambridge, at 5.20 last evening. Mr. George. Smith, aged 21 .years, of Bright Street, Gisborne, was . admitted to the Waikato Hospital suffering from concussion and shock, and Mr. Albert A. Wyatt, aged 35 years, of Takapau, who sustained a broken right leg, was also admitted to the institution. The other three passengers of the car, who escaped with bruises and shock, w'ere Miss Jessie M. McLean, aged 21 years, of Mount Eden; Mr. Ernest R. Bloomfield, aged 35 years, of Devonport and Mr. Leslie J. H. Wright, aged 22 years, law clerk, of Auckland. The driver, Mr. Campbell Cameron, also suffered from shock. The car, which was proceeding from Rotorua to Auckland, was, negotiating a sharp bend on the road near the Public Works camp at Karapiro, when the mishap occurred. The car came to rest 35ft. below the level of the roadj Dr. J. A. Ritchie and Constable Jones were quickly on the scene and rendered valuable assistance. Messrs. Smith and Wyatt were conveyed to hospital by ambulance and .the others, after receiving medical attention, we ra able to resume their journey. The service car w'as wrecked.

NARROW ESCAPE. CAR OFF ROAD. ' PASSENGERS ESCAPE INJURY. Three people experienced a narrow escape when the car in which they were proceeding towards Taupiri skidded in loose metal and crashed over a bank .just after crossing a bridge over the Mangawara stream, south of Taupiri. The driver of the car, Mr E. Caddigian, farm manager for Ellingham and Peacocke, Orini, and his wife extricated themselves without difficulty, but another passenger, Mr Peacocke, was removed from the car only with considerable trouble.

The car, which came to rest upside down, was not extensively damaged. The occupants were not injured.

THREE MEN INJURED. FOUND UNCONSCIOUS ON ROAQk . MOTOR CYCLE ACCIDENT. (By Telegraph—Special to Times.) MATAMATA, Monday. On Sunday night at eleven o’clock, Messrs Beattie and Harrison, of Paeroa, between Matamata and the Waharoa Road, found W. Tj. Carroll, sharemilker, and Fred Wright, of Waharoa, unconsious in the centre of the road. A little further on, on the side of the road Eric Hill, an employee of the Waharoa factory, was also found unconscious, underneath a motor cycle. Both were removed to the hospital. Hill was partially conscious and Carroll still unconscious this morning.

FATALITY AT AUCKLAND. KNOCKED DOWN BY CAR,’ THE DRIVER ARRESTED. AUCKLAND, Monday. Fatal injuries were received by Mr William John Humby, aged 67, of Ponsonby, when he was knocked down by a motor car in Ponsonby Road on Saturday evening. Later the driver of the car, Andrew Smith, aged 38, of Kingsland, was arrested and charged-with negligent driving so as to cause death.

MISHAPS AT MORRINSVILLE,

NO ONE INJURED

MORRINSVILLE, Monday

'Two motor collisions occurred at Morrinsville on Sunday, fortunately without serious injury to the occupants of the cars. The first occurred at the corner of Thames and Canada streets, between cars driven by Mr R. Kelly, of Ilangawera road, and Mr Hawke, of Kurenui. Mr Hawke’s car was considerably damaged, but no one was hurt.

The other collision took place at the corner of Thames Street and Studholme Street, but little or.no damage was done.

COLLISION WITH CAR. MOTOR CYCLIST SERIOUSLY HURT (By Telegrann.-—A«sor-iatlnn.) MASTERTON, Sunday. A butcher, Mr Thomas Prout, of Masterton, was seriously injured on Saturday evening as the result of a collision between a cycle he was riding and a motor car driven by Mr Terence Falloon, of Bideford. Mr Prout is suffering from severe head injuries, and was still unconscious today.

CARS IN COLLISION. .GIRL RECEIVES HEAD INJURIES. PALMERSTON N., Sunday. As a result of a collision between two cars last evening a girl, B. Wing, aged 15 years, of Wellington, received head injuries. The girl, her sister, and brother-in-la\y, and a baby, were en route tc Marton, when the driver of the car, it is stated, stopped to clean the windscreen. Another car struck the rear of the vehicle.
