GISBORNE RAILWAY,
ALTERATION IN ROUTE. TO AIEET AIOTOR COMPETITION. GISBORNE, Monday. The original intention was to join the Gisborne railway on reaching the flats to the Ngatapa branch, hut it has now been decided to take it straight across the flats. Though involving a long bridge over the Waipoua river and some increase in cost it will shorten the route by nearly five miles, which is considered an important factor, in view of motor competition.
