All the victims had been strangled, and some had their feet and cars cut off. A search extending over many months for Lite desert “Jack the Ripper” has been fruitless. Yesterday the police heard a woman's moans from Lhc bottom of a well, and rescued a half-strangled woman, who stated that her assailant was minus two lingers on the right hand.

The villages were scoured, and a native ex-sharpshooler named Miloudt 'llassen, who served in the war, was arrested. He confessed to the crime when he was confronted by the halfstrangled woman.
