GAMBLERS CAUGHT.

“TWO-UP” SCHOOL RAIDED. ELABORATE PRECAUTIONS. FRUSTRATED BY AEROPLANES. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel.—uopyngm (Received April 14, 9.55 a.m.) SYDNEY, April 14. The ingenuity of the police resulted in the discovery of a large gambling school at Rcdfren- An aeroplane was used to direct the detectives to a place in the scrub where a large number of men were playing “two-up” in a cleverly-camouflaged ring. The school was barricaded with wire entanglements in which branches and scrub were twined.

Upon the approach of the police, scouts posted round the ground began to wave white cloths. Then a smoke screen was sent up, and men were soon fleeing in _ all directions. Planes flying low joined in the chase.

Eight men were arrested. Many articles of clothing and two bicycles were left behind by the decamping players.
