FARMERS’ UNION
RALLY TOUR OF PROMISE. ~ PROPOSED WAIKATO ITINERARY. A rally tour through the Auckland district has been arranged by the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, and a series of addresses will be given at various places. The following proposed itinerary has been set down-for the Waikato: —April 24, Orini and Gordonton; 25, Ten-foot and Rototuna; 26, Te Akau and Te Kowhai; 28, Te Uuku and Whatawliata; 29, Tamahere and Cambridge ; 30, Eureka and Newstead; May 1, Rukuhia and Matangi; 2, Puketaha and Horsham Downs. Among other places in the Rotorua district, pkoroire and Tirau will be visited on'April 25. At the meeting of the Waikato Subprovincial yesterday the proposal was discussed. Mr Mackay asked what constituted a rally. What were the addresses to be about? As a rule meetings of farmers talked about everything and anything except what concerned farming. They talked at great length and never arrived anywhere. Mr Feisst explained that the idea was to put before the farming community various matters of interest to them. The meeting eventually decided to write to the Auckland executive and enquire in what way the sub-branch could assist tffem in the matter of assistant speakers, etc.
