CAMBRIDGE POWER BOARD MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Cambridge Electric Power Board was heW on Thursday. Those present « r Messrs M. Wells (chairman) W. Ia - hutt, J. S. Fisher, F. The Malvern Power Board wrote requesting information as to the hoard s procedure with regard to trees menacing power lines. —Secretary to supp l the information sought. Wiremen’s Registration Board. The Wiremen’s Registration Boaid notified that the hoard’s contribution towards the administration costs of the Electrical Wiremen’s Registration Act was £5 lis 10d.—The secretary explained that there had been a deficit of £llOO on the year's working of the board and the amount mentioned was this board's allocation. It was resolved to pay the amount. Power Charges. Mr R. Milligan, Oamaru, wrote seeking information regarding the board’s charges for power. —After a brief discussion it was resolved not to comply with the request, but the secretary was instructed to refer the writer to the last Public Works Statement. Outside Supply. The Thames Valley Power Board advised that it was prepared to acecpi this board’s proposal to supply power to consumers on the outskirts of its area, but who were adjacent to the Cambridge Board’s source of supply. The Thames Board would enter into an agreement for a period of five years. The poles erected would have to be capable of carrying the board’s hightension lines.—Left in the hands of the chairman to draw up an agreement for the scheme. Financial Assistance. On the recommendation of the Financial Assistance Committee it w r as resolved to approve two installations amounting to £BS. Engineer’s Report. The engineer’s report mentioned that the total consumers now numbered 1278, a net increase of four for the period. During the month the street light alterations in the borough were completed, but some experimenting would need to be done to get the best results from the centre suspension lighting. Work was now in hand for the Tamahere extension, all poles being in position and erected and the wiring being proceeded with.
