IN AUCKLAND PROVINCE. INCREASED PRODUCTION. The increase in dairy production in the Auckland Province this season compared with last season was fully maintained last month. For the nine months of the season tho butterfat yield is approximately 16 per cent larger. The yield for the province in March was 12,319,0001 b. of butter-fat, compared with 10,221,0001 b. in March 1929.

The fact that about five limes as much butter is now’ in store at Auckland as was at this time last year indicates the pressure which the greal increase in production as the season advances is placing on shipping services. The quantity of butter in store at the end of March was approximately live times as large as in the corresponding month of last year, this figure being about 2000 cwt. greater than the amount stored at the end of February. There was an increase 01' about 15 per cent in the amount of cheese stored at the end of the month compared with March, 1929. This amount, however, is little more than half the quantity in store at the end of February, which amounted to 42,509 cwt.
