SHORT LIST. In the Matamata Magistrate’s Court, C. Shaw appeared v. T. Taylor in a claim for £lO, the alleged value of a dog killed by defendant’s car. Conilicting evidence was given as to the value of the dog by the plaintiff and his witness. It was held by counsel that an agreement had been arrived at between the parties whereby the defendant was to supply a pup to replace the animal killed. The. plaintiff was non-Suited with costs to defendant. Railway Breach. Maurice George Neems was charged with attempting to cross the railway line when it was not clear. . Evidence was given that. Judgment by consent was given accordingly with maintenance of £1 per week for complainant and 10s per week for each child.
