CALEDONIAN SOCIETY
MONTHLY SOCIAL. The South Auckland Caledonian Society held another of its popular monthly socials in the Winter Show Hall on Saturday evening. An excellent programme was submitted to a very appreciative audience, and included the following: Selection, South Auckland Caledonian Society's Pipe Band; song, Mr Wheeler; musical monologue, Ali-ss de Montalk; song, Air Ewart; Highland Dancing by Aliss Phillips and Aliss Scotl; song, Miss Kirby; instrumental trio, Aliss and Messrs Alathieson; songs by Alessrs Hayes and Farrar; fantastic hornpipe and toe dance, Aliss Isabelle Brook; elocution, Aliss Elsie Cameron, and a duet by Aliss Kirby and Air Wheeler. Appreciative reference was made during the evening to the assistance given the Society by the Alathieson. Trio, who leave this week for Timaru. At the request of Chief McCrae the audience sang “For They Are Jolly Good Fellows,” and cheered the popular family. After supper dancing engaged the attention of those present.
