N.Z. MADE AEROPLANE.
* SUCCESSFULLY TAKES THE AIR. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WHAKATANE, Monday. The monoplane constructed at Whakatane was given a flying test on the Ohope Beach yesterday by the builder, Mr John Allison. The 'plane rose from the lreach and flew for about a mile at 60 feet up in the air, but as the motor did not appear to he functioning perfectly the aviator deemed it wise to effect a landing and not make any more tests that day. A further flying lest will be made this week.
