NEW ZEALAND PARTICIPATES. SWIMMING NOMINATIONS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. With reference to the Empire Games to be held in Canada in August, the New Zealand Swimming Council has decided to inform the Otago, Canterbury, and Auckland Centres that the council was prepared to nominate R. Calder (diving), L. J. Moorhouse (backstroke), and G. Bridson (free style), and to support each nomination to the extent of £SO, the Centre concerned to find the balance. The amount required for each competitor was to be £l2O. Next Year’s Championships. Next year’s senior swimming championships are to be held at Wanganui, and the junior and intermediate championships at Ashburton.
