MORRINSVILLE BRIGADE
BOROUGH COUNCIL CRITICISED. Considerable displeasure was expressed by members of the Alorrinsville Fire Brigade at their last meeting, at the way in which the Borough Council had refused their request for monetary assistance to send representatives to the annual conference. Several members expressed ■ the opinion that if members of the Brigade gratuitously gave their time for the benefit of the public, it was only fair that the council, as representing the public, should assist them in mak'ing themselves thoroughly efficient by attending these annual conferences. The unsatisfactory condition of the lire -engine was also discussed. Councillor Chapman, who was present at the meeting, suggested that a small deputation wait upon the Borough Council and put their wants before it. They should also.be careful to include everything that they wanted, when placing their estimates before the eounak.-
