POLITICAL SITUATION.
THE PARNELL SEAT. AIR HEWITT’S ATTITUDE. (Bv Telegraph.— Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Monday. Mr W. C. FLewitt, whose candidature in the Ifiberal-Labour interests was recently announced for Parnell, agrees to submit his name to the United Party’s executive, and if not selected as its candidate will not contest the seat.

MR W. C. HEWITT ANNOUNCED. Mr William C. Hewitt, -solicitor, has decided to accede to the request of the United Party to submit his name as a possible United Party candidate for the forthcoming- Parnell by-elec-tion] v Mr Hewitt contested the Auckland Central seat in United interests at the last elections.
