WEDDING

ASHTEN—BUSHELL, Tlie marriage was solemnised at First Church, Frankton, on the evening of March 26, between Rebecca Ellen, eldest daughter of Mr d'nd Mrs W. Bushell, 242 Railway Street, Frankton, and Ralph Low Ashten, youngest son of Mrs Annie Ashten, Upper Kent Street, Frankton. Rev. L. Rogers performed the cere- ■ mony. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a gown of ivory silk georgette over crepe de chine fashioned in tiny frills and falling to an uneven hemline. The long tulle veil was held by a Juliet cap of orange blossom, and fell to form a train. The bridesmaids, Miss Gladys and Miss Jean Bushell, wore georgette frocks in tones of primrose and leaf-green respectively. Both frocks were fashioned alike, falling to uneven hemlines, and embroidered in pastel shaded silks. May and. Rosemary .Bushell acted as flowergirls and wore frocks of cameo pink crepe dc chine, and carried posies to tone. The bride’s bouquet was of white roses, carnations and maidenhair fern, and the bridesmaids carried bouquets of dahlias, roses and belladonna lilies. Mr H. L. Ashten acted as best man and Mr Baden White as groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Centreway, The mother of the bride received her guests in an ensemble of black crepe de chine with black hat. The mother of the groom wore a suit of navy blue with hat to , tone. The grandmother of the bride wore black silk georgette and lace with black hat and fox fur. Mr and Mrs Ashten left for Auckland, where the honeymoon will be spent, the bride travelling in a beige suit with hat to tone. They will make their home at 46 Killarney Road, Frankton. Among the guests present were:— Mrs Heal, Mrs James (Wellington), Mr and Mrs Lamplugh and the Misses Lamplugh, Mr -and Mrs W. Millar and the Misses Millar; Mr, Mrs and Miss Haines; Mr and Mrs A. Monds, Mr and Mrs J. Dick, Mr and Mrs Carde, Mr and Mrs F. Herbert, Mr and Mrs Whelan, Mr and Mrs J. Wiseman, Mrs J. Dyke (Morrinsville), Mrs and Miss While (Auckland), Mr and Mrs R. Buekland, Mrs A. Healy (Dunedin).
