THE THAMES CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING RESULTS. GAZA WINS SADDLE EVENT. CUP TO TONY VICTOR. (Special to Times.) THAMES, Saturday. The annual meeting of the Thames Trotting Club was held at the Parawai Racecourse to-day in fine weather. There was a big attendance from all parts of the province and the track was in good order. The favourite turned up in the Te Awamutu-trained candidate Inverness, who carried £379 from Prince Pedro (£349) and Gold Treasure (£315), Lord Lou being eighth fancy with £6l. Don Juan and Great Vanity went away well and led past the stands from Lord Lou, Inverness and Army Boy. Along the hack Don Juan, Great Variety, .Lord Lou, Inverness, Oliver Thorpe and 'Gold Treasure were in that order. The favourite left his feet crossing the top and Don Juan showed the way into the straight to Lord Lou, Gold Treasure and Inverness. Gold Treasure did best to get the verdict by half a length from Lord Lou, who was a length in front of Inverness. Don Juan was fourth and then came Gaza, Prince Pedro and Oliver Thorpe Times; 3.29, 3-5, 3.31 4-5, 3.32 2-5. KEREPEEHI HANDICAP. Major support came for Dealer, who carried £478, the next in demand being Marionette (£418) and Some Dillon (£280). Lucy Bell stopped on the mark and interfered with Haerenga Pai. Some Dillon and Marionette went away with a good break on the others, and, passing the stands, this pair were ten lengths clear of Haerenga Pai, who was eight lengths in front of Hohora, while . Dealer was heading the rest. Along the back Some Dillon, Marionette, Haerenga Pai, Hohora and Dealer were in that order, the last named meeting with some interference crossing the top. Some Dillon led into the straight from Marionette, Haerenga Pai, Hohora and Dealer. Same Dillon and Marionette fought it but, Some Dilion getting the verdict by threequarters of a length. Dealer was a similar distance away third, with Haerenga Pai fourth and Hohora and Maid of the Mountains heading the rest. Times: 4.44, 4.41 1-5, 4.40 2-5. PARAWAI HANDICAP. Winner trained by owner, Te Awamutu. Nebraska was favourite with £612 from Black Magic (£458 10s), Kopu Boy (£285), and Joyride (£207 10s). Nebraska broke up at the start. Nelson Girl led past the stands, followed by All Special, Lochade, Kopu Boy, and Black Magic. Along the back the order was Black Magic, Nelson Girl, Lochade, Colonel Thorpe and All Special. Black Magic was the pilot as the straight entrance was reached, his nearest attendants at this stage being Joyride, Lochade, and Colonel Thorpe. Over the concluding stages Black Magic was the only horse to do it right, and won easily by three lengths from Joyride. Lochade was third, with Lady Ena a neck away fourth, followed by Colonel Thorpe, Lord Haldane and Nelson Girl. Times: 3.44 4-5, 3.51, 3.51. PURIRI HANDICAP (Saddle). Winner trained by J. Mahoney, Onehunga. Nathaniel with £606 was favourite over Realty (£361) and Gaza (£299). Lord Lou and Lackiewood did not go away correctly. Gaza began well and showed the way along the back to Princess Betty, Nathaniel, Student Prince, Zealous and Realty. Crossing the top Gaza was still well clear, with Nathaniel, Princess Betty and Zealous (who broke at this point), Student Prince and Delavan Bill in that order. Gaza came into the straight with a good advantage aiid went on to win by three lengths from Nathaniel who was five lengths in front of Tiny Rose. Zealous was half-a-head away fourth, followed by Princess Betty, Childe Audubon and Realty. Times, 2.15 4-5, 2.17 3-5, 2.21 2-5. THAMES TROTTING CUP HANDICAP. Peter Pirate dwelt badly on the mark losing all his handicap and Limosa and Glandore were also slow to go away. Richore was the early leader from Concertina and Warplane. Passing the stands at the end of a mile the order was Richore, Concertina, Warplane, Master Huia, Lord Nepean, Tony Victor, Explosion, Te Wahia and Hal Chimes. Richore led along the back from Warplane, Master Huia, Te Wahia, Hal Chimes and Tony Victor. Soon after they landed in the straight Warplane, headed Richore but Tony Victor who finished well came on to get the verdict by two lengths from Hal Chimes, who was ahead in front of Te Wahia. Warplane was fourth and then came Richore, Peter Pirate and Explosion. Times, 4m 33 l-ss, 4m 325, 4m 34 4-ss.
