Sir James Gunson will leave Auckland by the Aorangi to-day on a business visit to Los Angeles. Archbishop Averill and Mrs Averill will leave Auckland by the Aorangi to-day on an extended tour abroad. Mr R. Martini, of Hamilton, is ill in a private hospital in Auckland. Air Frank Anscll, of Wellington, publicity manager for Mctro-Gold-wyn-Maycr Films, is in Hamil.lon. Mr Noel Allen, llie well-known New Zealand musical comedy actor, was a recent caller at New Zealand House in London. Mr. T. Mr Zanc Grey and party travelled as * far as Papeete by the steamer Makura, which arrived at Wellington from San Francisco to-day. The party is to spend some lime in the islands, and, according lo reports from America, it is possible that .Mr Grey will conic to New Zealand again in the near future. Advice lias come through from Olago University that Mr A. D. Trended', M.A., has been given first-class honours in Latin for the M.A. degree, besides passing in Greek and English. Mr Trended is an old boy of King's College, and won a university scholarship from King's College in 1925. He will proceed later on lo Cambridge University.
