BLENDED BUTTER. THE DECEPTION DENOUNCED. rr.iicd Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. —Copyright LONDON, March 10. The Times in a leader denounces the blending of butter as a deception. II emphasises the excellence of New Zealand and Australian butter and the high standard of dairy inspection in Ihe Dominions. The paper says the public should be protected from buying blended butter under a false name. Leonard and Son, Limited, have received the following cablegram from Mr A. G. Kowson, London, dated March 7: —Butter: New Zealand, first grade, 137 s to 138 s; finest, 13Ss to 140 s. The demand continues very small. The market continues in a very depressed state. Outlook: If there is no improvement in demand, it is anticipated the prices will go lower. Cheese: New Zealand, white and coloured, 82s. The demand is slow. The market is quiet at the decline. Outlook: If there is no improvement in demand it is anticipated that prices will go lower. Deliveries: New Zealand and Australian, 26,648 crates; Canadian, 3642 boxes. Stock: New Zealand and Australian, 111,242 crates; Canadian, 129,797 boxes.
