UNEMPLOYED RELIEF.
THE GOVERNMENT CRITICISED. A LABOUR DEPUTATION. (By Telegraph—press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. Charging the Government with pursuing a policy of patchwork and hopeless drift in regard to the unemployment problem a deputation representing Labour movements in Wellington waited on the Minister of Lands, Hon. G. W- Forbes, and the Minister of Labour, Hon. W. A. Veitch, to demand ■that immediate steps be taken to deal with the situation as it exists in Wellington. . In reply Ministers defended the Government’.s actions, and -claimed that it had done more to alleviate the trouble than any previous Governments.
