PULVERISED COAL.

FURTHER EXPERIMENT.

EQUIPMENT OF THE HORORATA. United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel.—Copyright. LONDON, March 6. Progress in pulversied coal apparatus for ships’ boilers was marked by the Hororata’s departure for New Zealand with all except one boiler fired by an automatic process. The vessel has already made two journeys with half her boilers heated by pulverised coal, and it is now hoped that five will do the work of six boilers. The Ilororata will need 12 fewer stokers, and it is estimated the new system will save £SOOO annually.
