At the meeting of the executive of the Waikato Sub-provincial branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union yesterday the bobby calf and cull cow co-operative scheme was outlined, by invitation, by the managing director, Mr S. C. G. Lye, who explained at length the many benefits that would accrue to the farming community by the scheme. After lengthy discussion, in which the chairman (Mr T. If. Henderson) criticised the scheme as manifestly unfair and not sound business, as it appeared that every gain would go to the farmer and all losses entailed woul(l he borne by Mr Lye, a motion that the meeting commend Mr Lye for the action lie had taken in the part and that the executive give their moral support to the scheme was carried, the chairman alone dissenting.
