The Prime Minister, Sir Joseph Ward, has issued the following statement; “As pointed out m the last Budget, the financial position, of the State superannuation funds, i.e., the Public Service, Railways and Teachers rnnds is far from satisfactory. . In accordance with the proposal contained in the Budget, it has been decided to set ud a committee to investigate the position and report to the Governmen on the state of the funds and what action is necessary 'to place superannuatiJn for the public services on a sound and satisfactory footing.
