TE AROHA NOTES.

t (Special to Times.) William of Orange. Since being raced at the Avondale meeting iast month, when he showed speed in the early part, of the New Lynn Handicap, William of Orange has made marked improvement, and may yet fulfil his early promise. Re has" got rid of a lot of surplus condition, and there is now little doubt of his soundness. Hunt Club Entrants. The Te Aroha entrants for the Waikato Hunt Club meeting are Volimond, Black Maire, Dainty Arch, Belle Star, Glenstar, Taurnai, Gay Comet, Sir Russell and Archeen. Intaglio. Mr C. R. Wallace's two-year-old by Lapidary lias been named Intaglio. He is thriving on the work allotted him, and may lie ready lo race before the autumn. Tea Time Re-commissioned. After a spell of over seven months, occasioned through falling at the last Te Aroha meeting, Tea Time is again among the track workers. He has been especially well cared for during his extended holiday, and as lie is one that generally comes to hand quickly, should be again found carrying silk before long. Track Work.

After heavy rain throughout Wednesday night the tracks the following morning were heavy, especially the plough. Satisfactory working gallops were registered by Leasehold, Crown Arch, Terrapcen, Trig, Glenstar, Te Apurangi, Black Maire, Gicnison, Miss Albyn, Dainty Arch, Intaglio, All Soult, Lucky Alice, Bert Dinkier, Master Latour, Unique, Grand Arch, and Musket. Gay Comet put in two rounds at good three-quarter pace, and was anxious to go faster. This son of Day Comet is in tip-top condition. Belle Star and Sir Russell were to have gone half a mile, but the former broke away too soon, skipping over the distance very freely. Sir Russell registered 52 3-ss. with a fair weight up. Archeen and King Lap went together over four furlongs, the latter being in front at the finish in 525. The Day Comet —Poi two-year-old was on the track, but was not worked. Tea Time was trotted three times round the plough. The Acre Representative. Considering that it is only a few weeks since he was handled the Acre Elinore two-year-old, Leasehold, is taking to his track duties very kindly. He is the only Acre representative to be trained locally, and naturally interest is being taken in the way he shapes. Trainer G. A. Reid is not likely to hurry his preparation, and it is quite probable that he may be better at three years old than at two years. A Yearling Thoroughbred. G. A. Reid has a yearling by Acre —• Lady Sykes that is being cared for with a view to being put into work next year for Iwo-vear-old racing. On breeding lines he is likely to make good. Maiden Candidates.

A. E. Cox’s maiden candidates, Glenison and Miss Albyn, are progressing very satisfactorily in their track tasks, and when ready arc expected to take their places in perhaps better than just ordinary company. They have not been nominated for the Waikato Hunt Meeting, hut it is quite on Ihe cards they may compete at 'l’e Rapa next month. Glenstar. Glenstar will probably he one of our best handicap horses this season. He luis lined down considerably during Hie last three weeks, and is executing plenty of long work. Faster work will doubtless he given him now the tracks arc in more reliable order for registering good gallops. Trig Returns. Trig had a let-up for a few days consequent upon teeth troubles. He appears to have recovered nicely, and is looking both fresh and well. Previous to leaving for the MarlonWanganui trip he was sprinting well, and is pretty sure to quickly regain that form. All Soult. Ml Soult is Ihe name given the General Latour —Miss Rosa two-year-old owned by Mr N. Kinn, of El stow. As ids sire was by Soult and bis dam by Hie Soult horse, Santa Rosa, the name will be deemed well chosen. All Soult is a rare stamp, possessing power, good bone, splendidly turned quarters, well sprung ribs, and undoubted gameness Mr Kinn lias a Musketoon Ally from Miss Rosa that is highly spoken of, and which in due course may adorn the turf. Crown Arch on Up-grade. The Marble Arch gelding, Crown Arch, is now showing signs of being benefited by the careful preparation he has undergone for Urn past year at the hands of G. A. Reid, who thoroughly understands the work required bv this particular strain. He will he seen out at the Waikato meeting next month, where he should run at least prominently. M. Llpsey’B Pair. M. Lipsey is keeping Grand Arch well up to the mark, and in point of condition he certainly ranks as one of the fittest of locally-trained brigade. His- ownexy-Mr-McSheffrey, is acknow-

ledged to be a good sport, and it is to be hoped that the patience of both himself and trainer may in due course be rewarded. The Mistake gelding, Muskall, does not hold out so much promise in the meantime, but a few weeks may make all the difference.
