SHUNTING IN VICTORIA STREET.
(To the Editor;) Sir,—l am pleased that correspondents have referred to the evil of shunting in Victoria Street, and trust that something will be done in the matter. The present state of things is a scandal and a most determined effort should be made to secure an improvement. Hamilton’s level crossing Is most certainly a handicap to the trade of the town, and if the business people were fully alive to their own interests they would insist that j the traffic blockings must be reduced to an absolute minimum. Fancy holding up the business of a town while the railway authorities do their shunting. —'l am, etc., ' AMAZED.
