Taupiri kicked off against the sun, Waipa having the wind in their favour. Waipa were first to press,.Tickelpenny following up one of his own kicks to score an easy try. Pollard failed with the kick. Again it came—Wright to J. Litt to S. Litt, who mulled. Waipa broke through and opened up the game in Taupiri’s twenty-five. The ball came out to Bell, who sent on to Tickelpenny, who ran round behind the posts. Bell failed. Waipa 17, Taupiri 6. Taupiri came through, headed by Abraham. G. Pollard was hurt, but resumed. Wafpa came through but Welsh broke away, only to be grassed. They kept It up and in a nice dash the ball went from Wright to Davies, who got over nicely. They mulled in taking simple catches. Davies, with one exception, was the safest take on the Held. JUNIOR REPRESENTATIVES. HAMILTON DEFEATS WAIPA. At Te Awamutu on Saturday was played the somi-llnal between Waipa and Hamilton for the Waikato junior championship cup. The visitors had the best of the game, and though Waipa scored a try in the early stages, the Hamilton team made T 5 points before the final whistle. For Waipa, K. Jones scored, and for the winners tries were secured by Lee (2), Thomas (2) and Howe. Hajnilton 15 Waipa ... if 3 Mr D. Frecmaii was referee. Last year Waipa held the cup.
