DAIRYING INDUSTRY.
A RECORD PAY-OUT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Friday. The pay-out of Is 10id per lb hutterfat by the Waitoitoi dairy factory in Taranaki, which is claimed as a Dominion record for the past season, has been exceeded by the Edendale factory, which returned Is 10 3-8 d per lb butterfat to its suppliers. The Edendale factory sold its output of cheese from the beginning of the season to December at 9 9-16 d per lb, and to the end of the season at 9 3-l Gd. TROPHIES FOR FACTORIES. FOR GREATEST IMPROVEMENT. WELLINGTON, Friday. Under the Dairy Board’s annual competition for trophies for factories showing the greatest improvement in points in each grading year the following awards were made: — Butter. —Ninety-two points and over: Golden Bay, l; United, 2; Arahura, 3. Ninety points and under 92$ 'points: Rodney, 1; Katikati, 2; Marokopa, 3. Cheese, 92$ points and over.— Ryal Bush, i; Brydone, 2; Belvedere, 3. Ninety points and under 92$ points: Maungatua, 1; Mangawhata, 2; Stratford (llulnga branch), 3.
