PUBLICITY WORK IN ENGLAND. “None of the many New Zealanders who attended the screening of a number of New Zealand films could have gone away without an adequate appreciation of' the immense amount of excellent work which has been devoted to this most important business,” stated the New Zealand News (London) recently. “It was doubtless a revelation to many to hear the High Commissioner’s publicity officer state that New Zealand films are shown in at least 15 kinemas in this country every day. ‘No other Dominion,’ he added, ‘can show a record like this.’ “The programme of films shown was a complete answ r er to those who think that only scenery has any entertainment value In this form of publicity. The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board film, ‘The Meat We Eat,’ was both entertaining and instructive, and when one imagines it sandwiched in between an American comedy and one j of those tremendous love dramas with ! which Hollywood surpasses its own ! records every week, one can have I little doubt about its effectiveness. It i is fairly safe to suggest, that at least i half of the audience will be glad to ilook at something really British! ; Millions of people are reached every ! year by means of New Zealand films.”
