MONEY FOR AUSTRALIA
- HIGH INTEREST RATE. (Australian Press Association.) LONDON, August 30. An official announcement has been made that the full amount of £5,000,000 Treasury bills of the Commonwealth Government, for which tenders were Invited on Thursday, has been placed. The hills have a currency of one year. The average rate of discount is £0 3s per cent. According to the latest mail advices the average rale for three months’ Treasury bills was, at July 19, £5 8s per cent.
