ATTACK ON A BANK.
ARMED ROBBERS ABROAD. MANAGER STRUCK DOWN. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright.) (Australian Press Association.) (Received August 30, 2.30 p.m.) MELBOURNE, August 30. Two armed masked ’bandits robbing the Lake Coiac branch of the Bank of New South Wales, attacked the manager and his wife as they entered the banking chamber. Two'shots fired at ihe banker missed, but he was struck down with a piece of iron. The wife’s screams scared the robbers, who escaped in a car with the bank revolvers.
