A message from Peking says it is understood in diplomatic circles there that several Russian employees on the Chinese Eastern Railway have been reinstated. An early resumption of normal communications is thought to be indicated. . A sensational report was published in the Manchuria Daily News. This was to the effect that 1500 White Russians recently crossed the border and entered Soviet territory with the object of' harassing the Soviet forces. The invaders were ambushed, according to the report, by Red Guards in a village between Davlia and Machevskaya, and all were massacred on the night of July 28. Confirmation of the report is lacking.
