VICTORIAN CHAMPIONSHIP. Programmes and entry forms for the Victorian amateur golf championship, which is to be played from August 3 to August 9, have been received by the secretary of the New Zealand Golf Council,. Mr G. 0. Sutton. At the meeting, which is to be held at the Commonwealth Golf Club’s links, Oakleigh, Melbourne, there are only two events, the amateur championship of Victoria and the men’s foursomes amateur championship. In the championship, which is open to amateurs whose handicap does not exceed 6, two qualifying rounds of 18 holes, stroke play, will be played. The first 16 will, then play off by match play, all matches being over 36 holes. This contest will be played from August sto August 8. The other championship, the foursomes event, will be played on August 9, over 36 holes, stroke play.
