Interesting Lecture,
A magic lantern entertainment was given by the Rev. A. W. McMillan in the Congregational Church, Raglan, accompanied by a lecture on religious life in India. There was a large attendance in spite of the bad weather.
The Earthquake.
Another slight earthquake was experienced over the Raglan district on Friday night or early on Saturday morning.
Roads Need Attention. Good work is being done on the Raglan road by the relief work In cutting off some of the most awkward corners, but the Anal entry Into Raglan by both upper and lower roads Is worse than ever. TE AROHA Distress Fund. A list has been opened by the To Aroha News for the Earthquake Fund, and already a very satisfactory amount has been subscribed. Necessitous Cases. The Plako Rugby Union has handed the Mayor a donation of £3O, being the gate collection, on .“charity day” towards the relief of necessitous cases here. 'Temporary Shelter. Messrs-.W. Mackie and Sons are at
present engaged in erecting at Manawraru a temporary' building for the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., to act as a factory pending the erection of a permanent building.
