THE WAIKATO CLUB. AN ACTION ENDORSED. The secretary of the New .Zealand Trotting Association has advised the Waikato Trotting Club that the Association has endorsed the club’s action in imposing a fine of £5 upon T. Allen, the owner-driver of Anselm at the Club’s December meeting for starting off the wrong mark in the Visitors’ Handicap. In addition to the fine, Anselm was put behind the placed horses. Anselm finished second in that event to Hal Chimes and Nelson Dillon was third. The owner-driver of Nelson Dillon (C. G. Lee) entered a protest some days after the meeting. Anselm (now defunct) had been penalised 12yds in- the Visitors’ Handicap for a dead heat l'or first earlier, in the day.
