BIG CONFLAGRATION
BOOT STORE ABLAZE. EMPLOYEES’ NARROW ESCAPE. (Australian Press Association). MELBOURNE, May 15. A destructive (Ire occurred to-day at Selfridge’s bool store. Many of tiie employees in tiie upper storeys had narrow escapes. Girls, screaming and shouting, were rescued through the windows of adjoining buildings. The damage is estimated at £IO,OOO.
