HAMILTON LADIES’ CLUB. The second round for Mrs Jell’s trophy was played yesterday. The matches resulted as follows:—Mrs W. Batt defeated Mrs Hay, 5 and 4; Mrs W. Hume and Mrs P. Cleary all square; Miss Allen defeated Mrs Milroy, 3 and 2; Miss Masters won by default from Mrs W. Horton; Mrs Dingle defeated Mrs Masters, 5 and 4; Mrs Russell won by default from Mrs Gower; Miss. Coventry defeated Mrs Masters, 3 and 2; Mrs Bennett defeated Miss McKenzie, 2 and 1. The second round of the Gillies Vase was plfiyed yesterday. The matches resulted as follows:—Mrs Sutcliffe de- j feated Mrs C. Taylor, 5 and 4; Mrs j Primrose won by default from Mrs i Peterson; Miss Oliver defeated Mrs .1. i Standrin, G and 5; Mrs Bindon defeated : Miss G. Hammond, G and 5: Mrs King; won by default from .Miss Norris; ; Mrs lloekin defeated Miss Gann, 1 un; j Miss Templer defeated Miss B. N ick- j cry. 5 and 4. 1 One fortnight is allowed for matches in the next rounds of bolfi above competitions. The annual open tournament will be played on 11 111., 12th. and 13t1i., September. Yesterday Miss McKenzie holed out the first bole with j her drive.
