FURTHER CONFERENCES. RATING ON ACREAGE BASIS. The Ruakura Swamp Development Committee met at Hamilton to-day to make preliminary arrangements for a conference with the Chief Drainage Engineer and Mr. Harper, of the Internal Affairs Department, to be held ,_&bout the end of this month. It was resolved first to hold a conference of all members of the drainage boards and local bodies concerned in the amalgamation. This gathering is being called for next Wednesday. It will consider the proposal to put the rating of the swamp area on an acreage, instead of valuation, basis, bef Sides dealing with other problems of amalgamation for the purpose of the big drainage scheme. Jo- There were present at to-day’s 'meeting the following chairmen of "boards: Messrs. L. R. W. Reid (Mangawara River), R. W. G. Rutherfurd (Mangawara Drainage), W. J. Bridgeman (Woodlands), W. N.
