ALLEGED ASSAULT.
VERDICT OF NOT GUILTY. AUCKLAND, Wednesday. The re-trial of Bertram' Augustine O’C.onnor on a charge of assaulting a woman, aged 20, with intent to do grievous bodily harm, was conducted before Mr Justice Herdman in the Supreme Court yesterday. It was alleged the assault took place on March 28, and that it was committed with a piece of iron piping. The jury returned with a verdict of not guilty.
