CHARGE OF MURDER
PETTY OFFICER IN COURT. REMAND FOR WEEK GRANTED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Eric Matthews, a petty officer on the Diomede, was again before the Court to-day on a charge of murdering John Stevens. The police 1 were granted a further remand for a week, the chief detective assuring the Court that if the witness they were looking for could be found the case would then proceed.
