WESTFIELD MARKETS.
BEEF in large numbers. bALGETY AND CO., LTD. (Special to Tibes-) AUCKLAND, Wednesday. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., reports that at the weekly Westfield fat stock sale to-day, beef in large numbers were penned, the quality of which was fair. The yarding proved more than equal to the demand, and the values eased on last week's quotations. Prime heavy bullocks from Matamuku Downs realised £l4, and were purchased by the Auckland Meat Company. Medium bullocks sold for £l3 to £l3 17s 6d; lighter, £l2 to £l2 2s 6d. Cow and heifer beef also came forward in about average numbers, for which competition was good on wellfinished lots. Values remained on a par with last week's values-
Extra choice ox sold to £1 lGs per 1001 b; choice and prime, £1 13s '6d to £1 15s per 1001 b; just klllable, £1 11s to £1 13s; prime young cow and heifer beef, £1 13s; just killable, £1 4s to £1 Bs.
