TRANSPORT PROBLEMS.
DEPARTMENT AT WORK. COLLECTING FACTS AND .FIGURES (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Mr W. A. Veitch, Minister of Transport, states that the department is actively engaged in research v/ork, collecting facts and figures as a basis. This is most necessary in view of the controversies as to heavy traffic. The figures quoted were most unreliable. It had been asserted that fees amounted to £250,000, but the amount was really far below that.
