RACEHORSE DOPED.

I DASTARDLY DEED. ANIMAL BLIND AND PARALYSED. INCIDENT AT BONGBONG. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian Press, Association). (Received Jan. 18, 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, Jan. 18. A dastardly attack on the racehorse Bronze Fuze engaged in the Bongbong Cup was made at that town yesterday. The animal is now suffering intense agony. After Bronze Fuze was unexpectedly defeated in the Cup and returned to the enclosure, it was apparent that something was wrong with the horse. Mr. Gaxicu, the amateur rider, dismounted as soon as the winning post was reached, and led the horse, which was blind , in both eyes and stumbling, back to the enclosure. Mr. Devlin, chief stipendiary steward, conducted an examination and found that the horse was. paralysed in the loins. Mr. Devlin said it appeared to be a clear case of doping. Later a man was ordered off. the course.
