YOUNG IMMIGRANTS.
SALVATION ARMY SCHEME. THIRTY-EIGHT ARRIVALS. OFF TO PUTARURU. Thirty-eight boys of the average age of 18, who arrived by the Corinthic at Wellington, yesterday, detrained at Frankton from the Limited this morning, en route for the Salvation Army training farm at Putaruru. The boys, who are all sturdy and generally of a fine type, have come to New Zealand under the Salvation Army scheme. Prior to departure they spent a month on the Army training farm at Hadleigh, Essex. Each has a billet to go to, but prior to taking them over, the lads will spend three months on the Army farrm The contingent is in the charge of Colonel Barnard.
